Accutrend® GCT is most suitable for accurate on-site screening, diagnosis and therapy monitoring of metabolic disorders and risk factors in your office. Because it uses capillary blood and gives results in minutes, the system is ideally tailored to be used outside the lab. Accutrend® GCT is also suited for home use of patients under medical supervision.

Note that measurement of postprandial triglyceride levels allows you to better estimate your patient's cardiovascular risk. There is abundant evidence that cardiovascular risk is particularly increased by elevated postprandial triglycerides.
A recently published study* showed that in fasting normotriglyceridemic patients elevated self-determined daytime capillary triglyceride values are linked to premature coronary sclerosis.
